When you buy food, don’t assume that it’s healthy just because the nutrition label says “0g trans fat”. You need to actually look at the ingredients for the words “margarine, shortening” and more specifically “hydrogenated oil”.
Hydrogenated oil= trans fat. And food companies can get away with putting it as 0g on the label if a serving contains less than 0.5g of trans fat. Surprisingly a lot of foods contain tiny amounts of trans fat, even though the label doesn’t blatantly say so. These can include (some, but of course not all) peanut butter, cereals, crackers, salad dressings, granola bars, and the list goes on… So just check the ingredients, and if the food has hydrogenated oil, then DO NOT BUY IT.
It really makes you wonder wtf you’re eating, huh?
